counting crows
for a very, very long time i was in the closest about liking the counting crows. see my roommate at the time, shelley, hated the lead singer’s voice (i know his name is like adam duritz or something like that but i am much too lazy to look up the proper spelling).
she hated them and often railed about how much they sucked ass. i was timid and really didn’t realize the deepseated love i had for the counting crows.
but then i got a crush on ben jones. and the song “mr. jones” had been really popular and paul mezzy and i used to sing “mr. ben jones and me. . . ”
and just writing about that makes me smile about all the doofiness that was college.
so yeah, i still sing it as mr. ben jones and me.
so then since i liked that first album with those songs i bough that other album the one with angels of the silences on it, it’s got a green cover. anyway i really like that one song with that one line that says, “alla sudden you look across a crowded room and see the way that light attaches to the girl.”
it’s all good, really. very good.
wow. As I’m typing this, Winamp is playing a Counting Crows song for me. All this time I thought I was the only closet CC lover out there. Desert Life, their third album, is great; highly recommended.
