do you see?
i am tearing through the cheese monkeys at an alarming pace. i fear i will eat through it so quickly that i won’t digest. i had to force myself to put the book down and do something else.
it’s just so clever. i like graphic design and the book design is a masterpiece. it reminds me of some of the wittiness of egger’s copyright page in “a heartbreaking work of staggering genius.” but kidd’s book design is a bit more subtle. it catches you off guard, kind of grabs your eye and makes you investigate.
plus i’m digging the story– even though i can’t even remember the narrator’s name. paul maybe? doesn’t matter.
the book is good. you should probably get it now, in hardcover. the story will work in paperback but you will lose something– the design won’t translate, unless they have something else up their sleeve. who knows?
