in the newspaper business we used to have things called house ads. you’d use house ads when you didn’t want a story to dogleg or it wasn’t long enough to fill the alloted space.
the house ad was an ad for the newspaper.
i just watched a show called 20 years of Must See TV. it was an hour-long house ad for for NBC. you’d think they could have found something better to fill that slot.


I watched that too. I was really disappointed that they did not focus more on the shows.. the behind the scenes stuff, rather than “and our ratings this, our ratings that.
27 Aug 02 at 9:22 pm #The sick thing is that it was a rerun — the show originally ran back in May or June as part of the big 75th anniversary folderol. Kinda sick, though it was nice to see the Family Ties folks again, a little.
