and i’ve been knockin’ most all the day
i’m in the mood to be doted on today. sadly, there’s nobody to do the doting deed. so i’m just listening to elton john and trying to write press releases and hoping there’s a new dawson’s creek on tonight.
listening to elton john always makes me think of the scene in high fidelity where rob is talking about penny hardwick and her top five recording artists were carly simon, carole king, james taylor, cat stevens and elton john.

High Fidelity is SUCH a cool movie!!!
Nice job remembering Penny Hardwick’s top five!
26 Feb 03 at 2:57 pm #i’ve seen high fidelity roughly 394 times, i remember all sorts of things from it. it’s one of a handful of movies i can actually quote.
“only people of a certain disposition are sure they’re going to be alone for the rest of their lives at age 26, and we were of that disposition.”
i can also quote almost famous, heathers, the breakfast club, and beautiful girls. i think that might be about it.

“It’s one thing to want someone out of your life, but it’s another thing to serve them a wake-up cup full of liquid Draino.”
I love that movie.

26 Feb 03 at 10:00 pm #The verb “doted” reminds me way to much of Dodie, the step-daughter on My Three Sons. I despised that actress, the role, and the very thought that they could introduce a new character like that just to jazz up a show (yet I wasn’t concerned about the two Darrins on Bewitched). I was to be insulted with this ploy many more times in my television watching…
Later I found out that the actress, Dawn Lyn, is in real life sister to 70’s icon Leif Garrett. Eerie…
