I was 12 and close to finishing up my first year of junior high. i like this entry because not only do i point out what a wonderful personality cam has, but his most redeeming quality is that he doesn’t make fun of me. not making fun of me was a major plus in my book back when i was 12. as a 6 foot, 200 pound 7th grader, there was much fun making to be had on my behalf. but cam was nice, and immediately captured my heart. he was my first real crush. of course, it didn’t end well.

Dear Diary,
Today was the most embarassing day of my life. I could have died. Debbie Billet told both homerooms Hokey & Pokes that I liked Cam. That bad part is Cam is in Pokies’. I could have died! I’m never telling Jenny anything. Now Cam doesn’t even talk to me! I think Lisa Schumaker likes Cam. I hope not!
i still blush at the memory. i can still see greg fryer turning around in his desk to look at me and saying, “you like cam?” my eyes burned with tears and shame. mostly i couldn’t figure out why debbie would do something so mean. the entire homeroom classes didn’t need to know that i loved cam anderson.
He looks great in dark purple…? Hahaha! More! More! More!
