making a change
if you were in my kitchen right now, aside from being utterly grossed out by the lack of cleanliness, you’d be in shock and think you walked into the wrong kitchen. why? because for dinner i have prepared chicken breasts, little bitty red potatoes and steamed vegetables– that’s right broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots.
this from the woman who thinks hot-dog related products is a food group. i’d say my mom would be proud, but there are only three vegetables in her world french fries, onions and corn. i’m pretty sure she can’t tell the difference between broccoli and cauliflower.

jodi, jodi, jodi…broccoli and cauliflower ARE the same. They are two slightly different variations on the same plant: Brassica oleracea. See also kohlrabi, all the cabbages and kale.
That is all for your botany lesson of the day.

17 Aug 03 at 5:08 pm #If they’re the same, why does broccoli taste so much better than cauliflower?
17 Aug 03 at 5:54 pm #if he starts talking about esters or chemical compounds or distilling or ether or chlorophyl, i will kick your ass.
though, i don’t think he’s talked about cholorphyl. yet.

17 Aug 03 at 6:04 pm #so the screams of “oh my god you are such a cute little nerd” isn’t the way to go?
17 Aug 03 at 6:07 pm #I’ve learned to say “how intrestin’” real sincerely, and I alternate that with “NO! You’re kidding!” every, oh, 4, 5th time.
