But… but… That’s an AD!!!! You know, an AD! Like ‘advertising.’ Ads suck! Ads blow. It may defy universal physical laws, but ads suck and blow. Ads are supposed to be bought, not sold.
As in, I’ll pay you to carry a notebook with my ad on it.
Not, you can pay me for a notebook with my ad on it.

You know what I like the most about Juliana Hatfield's Book Notes essay? Not only does she list a Wilson Phillips song and talk of how much she and Evan Dando loved their album, but she disses their lyrical grammar. It's more awesomeness than the law should allow. I haven't read her memoir yet, but I so hope it has an extended chapter about her role as the angel on "My So-Called Life." [+]
