milestones

i have finally mastered the art, while sitting here working in my underpants, of discerning by touch alone which of the chocolate cover gobs in my fancy pants Pampered Chef bowls are chocolate covered raisins and which are chocolate covered peanuts. this was a necessary skill to develop, because i don’t like the peanut/almond combination as much as i like the raisin/almond combination.

also, there are five little brown birds outside on my terrace.

also, during the 3:20 stand up and stretch booty shake, i choreographed a rather salacious little dance to the new pornographer’s cover of “Your Daddy Don’t Know.” it’s a wonder to behold.

I’m not bitter, just somewhat jealous. I cook a lot for 5-8 people (or more) at a time, depending on how many friends each kid has here at once, and no one has ever pampered me with glass bowls.

On the other hand, I did get a really, really nifty meat cleaver and a magnetic hanger for it and my other knives, so I did get (sort of) spoiled.

Actually they do, and my wife went to one party and came back with a set of glass measuring cups - the big ones with the plastic form-fitting lids. They cost like 5 times more than a comparable set of Pyrex, WHICH WE ALREADY HAD. Go figure.
