i gotta say one thing for apple, they’re fast. they sent a tiny cardboard sarcophagus for me to lovingly place Roland for his long, dark journey into California. tonight i will have a small ceremony in his honor. we will play lucinda william’s “Just Want to See You So Bad” in honor of his first ever song, and then probably Mike Doughty’s “His Truth is Marching on,” because it sounds appropriate, and finally “Dead Flowers” by the Rolling Stones, because i want to.
it will be a small, somber affair. dress is casual, i will probably wear underpants and my paul westerberg t-shirt which has become the uniform at supergenius headquarters.
i am sure some tears will be shed. it will be tough, but i know i have to do it. i’m not sure how i’ll find the strength to go on, but i’m sure that i will.
Ah, the underpants and Westerberg t-shirt combo. Truly an outfit for all occasions.
So, how long do you expect the grieving process to last? Is there a glimmer of hope for a reunion party in 7-10 business days?
