things i forgot to tell you - bob mould edition
•i spied dave pirner (he’s from soul asylum for the heathens in the readership) at first ave. he is short.
•one person who is not short is my pal and fellow westernerd, wolfdogg. he’s like 6′7″ or so (though he claims 6′9″ which i think is total bullshit). when we go to a concert we’re a pretty intimidating pair. so after the show bob mould show on tuesday we were sitting outside against the wall waiting for sister #2 and the stink. wolf, of course, is feeling the bob-mould too many sierra nevada love vibe, and he decides to lean out at random strangers and ask “how are you doing?” he does this exactly once. and who does he lean down in front of? oh, sweet rob my HOT-FORMER WRITING TEACHER! figures, huh? sweet rob of all the random strangers. fucking figures. rob didn’t notice me, or he was ignoring me. which was fine with me, because he cut his hair and it looks goofy.
•after the main show was over and before the encore, i threatened to stage a sit-in if he didn’t play “if i can’t change your mind.” bob then came out onto the stage and sang the song. clearly he loves me.
•the show kicked all kinds of ass bob was tight and he looked awesome. and he played some of my favorite sugar songs, but not so many of the old solo bob, though he did play “see a little light” and i had to dance, and i got a nice fingerpoint from the oldster in front of me. that was fun.
it’s 6′8″…..don’t give me that total bullshit crap, you know it’s true.
