you will spend the evening, what’s left of it after bookclub, browsing Amazon looking for new books while watching Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Toni Morrison speak during the National Book Awards ceremony which is being rebroadcast on Book TV.

There’s a “Book TV?”

I always thought of TV as the antithesis of books. It’s like if there was a Mensa SIG for NASCAR or Pro-Wrestling. They just don’t seem to fit, you know?

I haven't read her memoir yet, but I so hope it has an extended chapter about her role as the angel on "My So-Called Life." [+]
