like i mentoned over on the left, today is the first anniversary of 89.3 The Current. as any regular reader knows, i love The Current with a passion that probably borders on creepy. this station is the best thing that happened to Minnesota Radio in a long, long time. the music i’ve discovered just by listening is amazing: andrew bird, dolorean, the hold steady, AND AND AND ted leo. though thought of how empty my life would be without The Current makes me a litte sad.

so in honor of The Current’s first anniversary, go listen to one of the totally awesome in-studio performances:
· the magic numbers
· the hold steady
· mike doughty
· M.I.A.
· aimee mann
· Brendan Benson
· bob mould
· eels
· ted leo
· Rilo Kiley
· mike doughty (again!)
· the shins
· andrew bird
· halloween, alaska

Ummm, is there something I don’t know? I can’t get the stream at work but your “no more current” crazy talk has me very worried…
89.3 is okay right? Good future and all?

  5. Amen. I bought an iPod shortly before The Current started, and now I rarely listen to the iPod in the car. 89.3 has everything I need!
