i spent my lonely, sad pathetic lunch sans Al & Seamus eating leftover stir-fry and reading the NY Times Profile of Deborah Eisenberg (which i found out about on bookslut).

the article is a bit depressing about the state of short stories in american fiction, but Eisenberg has this lovely quote that i am gonna write down somewhere important, “I like the eclipses, the synaptic jumps of short stories,” she said. “The reader has to participate very actively in the experience.”
