pictures of pictures

on saturday princess jaycie and max discovered some old pictures in one of the hatboxes i have stacked on the floor. they unwrapped them and were delighted to find pictures of themselves when they were much younger than they are now. jaycie, being the budding artist she is, quickly arranged the photos and started snapping [...]

seriously, i just drank champagne from a paper cup. we were toasting Kappa before he left. we’re so sad to see him go that not even drinking champagne made it better.

so today i have to write the newsletter. i have to write the newsletter every month. it goes out to about eleventeen billion people and they love it. all of them. i know this, because i get to read all the fanmail the newsletter gets (which is one of my favorite parts of my job). [...]

today is kappa’s very last day as a co-worker of mine at Hell, Inc. he is moving on to other, greener pastures. i will miss him muchly. i adore kappa so much that i got my ass out of bed at 7 a dot m to make some caramel rolls for his last breakfast. yes, [...]

it’s official, MSNBC has the ‘mats reunion story. according to them, “Singer/guitarist Paul Westerberg, bassist Tommy Stinson and drummer Chris Mars convened in the band’s Minneapolis hometown to record “Message to the Boys” and “Pool & Dive.” The Westerberg-written tunes will appear on the retrospective CD, “Don’t You Know Who I Think I Was?: The [...]

i ditched work early to get home so i could work on my short story. i fired up ol’ Ogden and just settled in for a quick e-mail check before getting that nose of mine to the grindstone. in my box was a note from Kelly, with the subject ‘Class has been cancelled.’ allegedly there [...]

okay, okay you can all stop fucking yourselves. well, that is if you so choose to stop. you however feel free to just keep masturbating away.
i had lunch with my FFJ and she helped talk me down from the storytelling ledge. she listened and then we talked about some stuff, and then we talked [...]

OH GO FUCK YOURSELF

as i told Kelly, my response to anyone who dares ask the question ’so how’s the story coming?’ is “OH GO FUCK YOURSELF.” i even say it in all caps, just like that. i think maria and seamus, two of my co-workers, are about to have heartattacks.
“i’m starting to be nervous for you,” seamus said.
“so [...]

jim walsh posted the cutest song, you should download if only to hear him sing the line “remember singing ‘I Will Dare’ like we were headed for the promised land.”

in today’s PiPress, Westerberg’s manager claims there’s a lot of ‘misinformation going around’ in regards to yesterday’s leaked ‘Mats photo. In the comments of that post, Walsh says they recorded two songs for the Best of that’s going be released, according to Amazon.com on June 6th (oh yeah, that’s right, my birthday!).

robin and i have decided that the ‘mats should have their one-night-only reunion concert at this year’s lollapalooza. think about what marketing genius it would be. . . first of all, they’re gonna have to do something to drum up interest in a pricey ‘mats boxset, right? i mean sure there are westernerds like me [...]

if it were even remotely appropriate, i’d be running around work here with my underpants on my hand shouting “AIIIEEE!” over and over again.
however, this does not solve the problem of the short story that refuses to be written. i’ve got 48 short hours until it’s due. and i even gave myself a tighter [...]

the ‘mats reuniting? kind of? scroll down to the third photo. . . you’ll see tommy stinson and paul westerberg all smiley and laughing. i am crapping my pants right now. here’s from the Buddhead page:
Speaking of Josh Freese, he’s in The Replacements bitch! The band somewhat recently re-united to record a couple songs for [...]

the one about the violinist, the constantly pregnant coworker, and the gas stations
the one about the guy who takes all the money from the Baby Pool at work and blows it on poker
the one about the girl who loses her two sisters in a small town in wisconsin
the one about the woman whose daughter has [...]
