Speaking of Josh Freese, he’s in The Replacements bitch! The band somewhat recently re-united to record a couple songs for the upcoming Replacements boxset that we have huge boners waiting for. Chris Mars doesn’t even play drums anymore… he’s like some cool art world guy or something, so he didn’t play drums on it, but he did cruise by to take this cool picture and field neg vibes from Tommy Stinson.

OH MY GOD! do you think they’ll tour? do you think this is possible? what do you think?

9:57 a.m. — i have sent most everyone i know an annoying e-mail, including the vodo. to me this should be like news on the NY Times and shit. i can’t seem to get my heart to calm down and i have no idea why i’m really freaking out this much. it’s probably because i have convinced myself that The Replacements will tour in support of the boxset. It will be the Bastards of Old Tour and i’ll have to quit my job and follow them around the country, to make up for all the lost time. And even if they don’t tour. the thought of new songs, it’s making my heart race.

Yeah, this is THE news this morning.

I can’t wait to hear NEW songs! I hope there’s an entire album worth of material!
But a tour? I don’t think we’ll be that lucky. Still, we just might see Tommy & Paul do something together.

If it happens & turns out to be in Mpls only, I am totaly crashing at your place Jodi. I’m OK with sleeping on the floor.

Ahem. I didn’t get an email. Which is just as well. Had I gotten the email I would have had my stroke four hours ago. I managed to get a lot done in that time. Which is good, as I’m now incapacitated.

Things I Want to Tell You

Someone needs to invent a bug repellent spray that not only keeps the mosquitoes away but includes some sort of anti-itch stuff to keep the bites you've already gotten from itching like crazy. [+]

Interview #2 at place I would enjoy working at went really well. I'm pretty pumped. [+]

Can I get an AMEN! This woman responds to the Jezebel Hullabaloo the way I wish I could have, had I not been blacking out with the rage. I agree that drinking a lot and having a lot of sex with different men is not feminism. It might be your lifestyle choice and a lot of fun -- go you, but it has nothing at all to do with being a feminist. I think once I simmer down a bit, I will chalk up the whole Hullabaloo to a few drunk 20something girls being stupid and naive, because, that's what 20something girls do. We've all done it, and not to get all sage woman of the earth, but something changes for women when they turn 30. I don't know what it is, I cannot define it, but other woman will agree 30 is a magical age where suddenly you seem more yourself, you think before you speak, you look back at your 20something self and realize what an idiot you were, but you still love that girl. I'm just hoping these Jezebel-girls will be so kind to their 20something selves when they look back at how absolutely foolish they were. {via fimoculous, whose comments are all men discussing the issue which makes me a little sad}. I had avoided the whole Jezebel hullabaloo until this morning when I was reading Mediation's thoughts on the nonsense. I followed his links to the Metafilter discussion and it was after watching the video there that I blacked out from sheer rage. I'm so angry I can't even write anything coherent. [+]

I just applied for a for reals job for the first time since 2000 (three fors in one sentence, go me). I feel a little like I'm going to barf. I forgot how nerve-wracking it is to want something like this. [+]
