the island of butt
last night after bookclub, max started to show me his latest song and dance routine. it went a little something like this:
“there once was an island called butt”
here you fling your legs out from side to side, like you’re trying to kick off your foot or something.
“but then an earthquake struck”
here is where you run your finger down your backside in a zig-zagging motion.
“there once was an island called butt”
more foot flinging
“but then an earthquake struck”
zig-zag on the backside
“and that’s why everybody has a butt crack!!”
and this is where you bust out the jazz hands.
(incidentally, this photo is from my trip up nort, don’tyaknow? there will be more about it later)
This is the type of song they need to teach in more preschools…this is the type of song that will keep the kids singing. I’m singing it already.

Not that very one, but some form of it.
