State Fair 2006

My love of the Great Minnesota Get Together has been well documented lo these six years I’ve been writing for iwilldare.com ( 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005). Tomorrow the family will head out once again in the wee small hours of the morning to take the State Fairgrounds by storm.

I am giddy with anticipation.

But this year will be a little different. This year we’ll actually be blogging the fair thanks to the joy of cellphones. We’ll be posting throughout the day. And I’ll return later with about 392 pictures and 39,982 stories about how rad the fair is.

You know what I like the most about Juliana Hatfield's Book Notes essay? Not only does she list a Wilson Phillips song and talk of how much she and Evan Dando loved their album, but she disses their lyrical grammar. It's more awesomeness than the law should allow. I haven't read her memoir yet, but I so hope it has an extended chapter about her role as the angel on "My So-Called Life." [+]
