Looking like a train wreck
I was glued to my chair and my eyes are started to water because I hadn’t blinked in 43 minutes. While enjoying my solo sans pants time this evening, I started channel surfing and landed on The Real World: Denver. I was immediately mesmerized. Don’t judge me, you too would have been unable to surf past a bunch of hot 22-year-olds making out with each other.
When I was 19 and the first ever Real World aired on MTV (you know Eric, Becky, Norm, Andre, Julie, Kevin, and Heather), I thought it was the most fascinating thing to ever hit TV. Now that I’m 34, I think it’s just sad. First, there’s nothing real about it, at all. Second, just the very idea of my 22nd year being caught on video is horrifying. Sure I would have thought it was a brilliant idea when I was 22, but I cannot imagine being haunted by the video for the rest of my life. I pity the Real Worlders.
However, tonight, I could not stop watching The Real World: Denver. I couldn’t, and it was totally the fault of the 21-year-old cutie with a tattoo on his hip that said “hey!”
I think I even drooled a little bit.

I only remember season 3, and only vaguely. In my defense, I was pretty much just staying up all night drinking at that point in my life.
