Thankful list, an attempt to count blessings
I am thankful for:
- Boomerang showing every single episode of The Flintstones ever.
- Dad being healthy enough to spend another Thanksgiving with us and my mom. Hug your parents people, not everyone gets to this year.
- Jonathan Lethem’s Motherless Brooklyn, it’s really fucking good.
- For my beautiful sisters, even Sister #4 — the great imposer, and the men they married.
- Did I mention every episode ever of the Flintstones, IN ORDER!
- Icy cold Diet Cokes with Lime and the health not to barf them back up
- Kelly, FFJ, the Chiliwinkers, Seamus, Al, the cutest girl on earth™, BFK, Wolfdogg. . . I could go on and on about my friends.
- $50 Cheeseckaes.
- My impeccable taste in music.
- My extreme self-discipline that allowed me to resist the siren song of Mike “We’re on a Break” Doughty being in St. Paul on Sunday and keep the Make Sweet Sweet Love to Me™ vibe on the shelf.
- Princess Jaycie, Boo, The Peanut, Nolie bugs, and Liam Piam Pudding Pop, life is much better with kids in it.
- 50-degree sunshine on my face in November.
- My Rainmanlike ability to correctly identify the plot of a Flintstones episode based on seeing only the first minute.
- Our awesome Chromey vs.Chromey t-shirts.
- You.
I am thankful for still being in touch with you, and having you in my life after all this time.
