The Google of the sexes: Crackpot Theory #48

I don’t even know how it came up last week at class, but for some reason Kelly, Jags, and I got to talking about boys and Google.

This allowed me to espouse Crackpot Theory #48: The Google of the sexes.

After writing iwilldare.com for some six and a half years I have noticed a difference in the way men and women Google. Here it is, in it’s simplest terms:
Men google themselves
Women google the person they’re curious about

This isn’t to say that women don’t occasionally google themselves. I am sure they do. I have been known to do it before, but mostly I just google every man I’ve ever kissed, or wanted to kiss.

I came to this conclusion after being contacted a bunch of times by people from my past. The men are always, always, always looking for themselves. The women are always, always, always looking for me.

Deny it all you want penised-googlers, y’all are an egotistical bunch.

Things I Want to Tell You

Someone needs to invent a bug repellent spray that not only keeps the mosquitoes away but includes some sort of anti-itch stuff to keep the bites you've already gotten from itching like crazy. [+]

Interview #2 at place I would enjoy working at went really well. I'm pretty pumped. [+]

Can I get an AMEN! This woman responds to the Jezebel Hullabaloo the way I wish I could have, had I not been blacking out with the rage. I agree that drinking a lot and having a lot of sex with different men is not feminism. It might be your lifestyle choice and a lot of fun -- go you, but it has nothing at all to do with being a feminist. I think once I simmer down a bit, I will chalk up the whole Hullabaloo to a few drunk 20something girls being stupid and naive, because, that's what 20something girls do. We've all done it, and not to get all sage woman of the earth, but something changes for women when they turn 30. I don't know what it is, I cannot define it, but other woman will agree 30 is a magical age where suddenly you seem more yourself, you think before you speak, you look back at your 20something self and realize what an idiot you were, but you still love that girl. I'm just hoping these Jezebel-girls will be so kind to their 20something selves when they look back at how absolutely foolish they were. {via fimoculous, whose comments are all men discussing the issue which makes me a little sad}. I had avoided the whole Jezebel hullabaloo until this morning when I was reading Mediation's thoughts on the nonsense. I followed his links to the Metafilter discussion and it was after watching the video there that I blacked out from sheer rage. I'm so angry I can't even write anything coherent. [+]

I just applied for a for reals job for the first time since 2000 (three fors in one sentence, go me). I feel a little like I'm going to barf. I forgot how nerve-wracking it is to want something like this. [+]
