Things I learned while at the Post Office
- It costs $8.54 to mail a bowling pin to Utah
- Connor does not listen to his mom
- Connor is friends with the postal worker dude and will get a present when it’s his turn in line
- The present is for being the best big brother in the world
- Eight people standing in line at the post office will spontaneously say “Awww” when the postal worker dude holds Connor’s five-week-old sister, Jillian, and says to the crowd, “Now this is a special delivery”
- Jillian is named after her sister
- That cheesedog special delivery line will seem almost sweet
- But only after you hear Connor & Jillian’s mom talk about how Jillian looks like her sister
- And how Jillian is easily consoled like her sister
- And then only after you hear Mary, the postal worker lady, ask if that makes it easier
- And then Connor & Jillian’s mom says that no it makes it bittersweet
- And then after Connor, Jillian, and their mom leave Mary tells you that the sister died
- Of cancer
- When she was only 18-months-old
