It came to the end

Well, my gift of Then We Came to the End caused a lot of excitement at Seamus’ Re-gifting party. After answering about 39,015 questions about the horribleness of the book, Lee and Seamus decided it deserved to burn.

We came to the end

It surprises me how uncomfortable I was with burning the book. It felt really, really wrong. Even though I didn’t like it, it hardly deserved such harsh treatment.

Up in Flames

Of course I spent a lot of time calling Lee and Seamus fascists and Hitler. Which made them decide to do dramatic readings of the pages before they burned them.

Still it was weird. At one point I said, “Even the dad in Footloose was against book burning!”

  3. shokkou

That is uncomfortable. But you really didn’t like it so burning was kind of respectful i guess. There’s only one book in my entire life that i threw away rather than donating to the library or Salvation Army. And it wasn’t that it was so bad but it was a sex book written by Xaviera Hollander so i really didn’t know what else TO do with it.
