Of all the questions to blow
The interview was winding down, when one of my interviewers asked a final question.
“What’s the best 49 cents you ever spent?” he asked.
“Wow,” I said, and cocked my head to the side to think. “Gee. . .”
“This is a softball one,” he said.
“Huh.” I said. “I don’t know.”
“Paul Westerberg’s 49:00,” he said.
“Oh man!” I screeched. “I can’t believe I didn’t get that.”
We then went on to talk about the record and how Paste magazine thinks I am Paul Westerberg. To say I want this job might be the understatement of the century.

That doesn’t sound like any job interview I’ve ever experienced. Hope it works out in your favor.

If you do get the job, you owe me $50. I don’t pray for free.
