I agree with you on everything. Even that you are better than me in areas. Because it's true.

We were actually drinking gin & tonics from coffee mugs the other night... I agree that limes are essential.

UH you probably learned to type on a typewriter. But now that nobody uses typewriters (and the monospaced fonts), you can ditch the extra space.

There are three problems with your gin & tonic methods:
1. You're using a plastic cup (I abhor plastic cups)
2. Your cup is too big thus making it impossible to finish the drink before the ice melts
3. No lime (what's wrong with you?)

I use a 16 ounce glass, fill with ice, pour in gin to about there, fill rest with tonic, squeeze lime wedge and drop remainder into the glass. Enjoy.

I was always told to put two spaces after a period, but I usually can't bring myself to do it. Just for you, I'll try to make a more conscious effort in the future.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the proper way to make a gin and tonic, though. Here's mine: Open a bottle of gin. Pour about four to six ounces into a 32-ounce plastic cup. Add tonic until it's about three inches from the top of the cup. Stir. Fill remainder of cup with ice. Drink some, then add more ice.

I never get enough ice in, though, even with the final step there. It always melts before I hit the bottom of the drink.
