I am on the fence about Eggers, but have to agree with you about the other three. Klosterman’s new book does have its bright spots, though.
hmmm…Dave Eggers, huh? I’m just gonna sit here and enjoy the gloat.
TTHM, I almost bought a super-special secret signed edition of Eggers’ novelization of Where the Wile Things Are, just to spite you. But then I figured you’d just laugh and I’d rather spend the $40 on something good, like vintage napkin rings.
Yeah, I can understand, but all these have been going downhill for a while for me.
Hmm. Looking back at Eggers’ Heartbreaking, the only part I really liked was his rant in the back about “irony.” Beyond that I just kind of figured I was supposed to like it because people told me I would.
