now i have photographic evidence of how much Nolie loves the Beatles Singing Bear. while i babysat yesterday we must have played that bear about 320,918 times. both Nolie and Cade are getting pretty good at singing along.
i had to babysit yesterday because of the awful, no-good, very bad friday. friday, which started out [...]
close your eyes and i’ll kiss you
we giggled about the rain while we stood in a circle, chatting it up in the lobby of the Open Book. the rain was coming down in sheets, buckets, like cats and dogs, and any other cliche you can think of. it was pouring out.
people broke off into groups of two or three to [...]
as many of you know for a very long time Ruby’s theme song has been kenny rogers’ “ruby, don’t take your love to town.” for a brief moment in 2003, it was “ruby soho” by the band whose name i cannot remember at the moment. but now, there’s a new song in town. well, it’s [...]
ruby can continue taking her love to town
you will be happy to know that this morning, totally by accident and without even looking, i found the ruby payment bill. it seems it was sitting on the floor right next to the desk where all good bills should be. who’da thought? carry on.
one of the problems with taking classes at the loft is that it’s located in the Open Book building which is about three eyelashes away from the Metrodome where the Twins play (that’s baseball for people who really don’t care about such things). Whenever there’s a home game, parking tends to get quite nightmareish around [...]
the perfect toy for the ADDed music junkie
i cannot say enough how utterly in love i am with the new pimped out ruby. i mean, really this 12 CD changer thing is the best thing to happen to me since i got my license (after four tries).
why’s it so wonderful? because you don’t have to wait for the tape to get [...]
so thanks to my beloved brother-in-law ruby is the proud new owner of a 12-disc CD player. we still need to get her a fancy faceplate, to cover the hole left by the extraction of the AM/FM cassette player, but for now we are rocking. we left sister #3’s and tony’s place (which is just [...]
pimp my ride
ruby and i are off to go get pimped. i hope this goes as smoothly as planned. ruby really does need a CD player, more than anything else. now i am off to go choose what the very first CD ruby will ever listen to will be.
i went outside to go to work today only to discover that ruby had one of the flattest tires i’d ever seen. of course, now i’m sitting here waiting to be rescued. i don’t have a spare. argh. and even if i did, i don’t have a jack. argh, argh. and even if i did, [...]
SARG* and ruby back together again
i decided it was about time i put on my big girl pants and take ruby roo in for that brake job she so desperately needed. she was growing ever recalcitrant with each application of the brake pedal, protesting mightily with a hideous grinding noise.
she’s now fixed up and i’m $385.67 poorer. happy ruby=near destitute [...]
anyone who reads this?
so, about how much would it cost to purchase and install a 12-cd changer in ruby?
fantastically crabby
so i went to go do some laundry only to discover all the washers were taken. so then, i had the genius idea to go to the grocery store instead. but i am sitting here trapped inside my apartment because creepyboy is like cleaning out his dad’s car or something. he’s been out there for [...]
it was damn cold out this morning as i hopped into ruby about to start the adventure that is my commute to work.
since today is jess’ birthday i had a boatload of helium balloons floating around. the windows were all frosted up so i sat there for a bit waiting for the magic defrosters to [...]
start me up
well the auto shop called about ruby. it seems it wasn’t her starter at all but a seriously dead battery. i get to pick her up this afternoon.
yay!
you picked a fine time to leave me ru-by
well there’s a game plan. since stinky thinks ruby’s problem is her starter. tomorrow, when the auto shop opens, i’ll have it towed there and pray, pray, pray they have it done by like 5ish.
let’s keep our fingers crossed.
